Wat Sene and Wat Xiengthong are two Buddhist temples, regarded as “the temple of 100,000 treasures” and “monastery of Luang Prabang golden city” respectively. These are the most representative temples in Luang Prabang and the top symbols of Buddhism in Laos. We then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as exploring the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Along the way, we will stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where the local rice wine is produced. It is a unique experience in our Luang Prabang tour to discover the local specialties in Ban Xanghai which is known as “Whiskey village” in Luang Prabang city.
