With 4-day Kathmandu tour, you’ll discover old-aged cities and villages along a hike short multi-day hike and wake up to impressive vistas of the Himalaya. In the end, discover the streets of Kathmandu by vintage Vespa before you depart.
Sitting into an ‘iron bird”, you can witness the beautiful vistas over the Kathmandu Valley. Upon arrival, our representative will be waiting to warmly greet and escort you to the hotel. Once you’ve settled in the hotel in Bhaktapur, relax at leisure as the rest of the day will be yours.
Overnight in Bhaktapur.
Enjoy breakfast and we will be ready to discover Bhaktapur – an ancient city (among two others – Kathmandu & Patan) known as “Bhadgaun” which means the city of devotees, home of true medieval art and architecture in the Kathmandu Valley.
We then drive to Dhulikhel where we will have lunch right before beginning a hike to Namobuddha which is a beautiful and sacred site to Buddhists, especially to the local Tamang population. We can marvel at the sunset vista at a nearby viewpoint.
Overnight in Namobuddha.
Today, we enjoy a short walk down the hillside to the Buddhist pilgrimage site of Namobuddha. You will get to know about its significance and place in the local Tamang culture just before visiting a newly-built Tibetan Buddhist monastery.
Then, you traverse to Panauti which is the 13-century capital of the autonomous kingdom of Banepa and still holds an essential role as a historic village in Kathmandu Valley. The village itself is constructed in the signature Newar Style with carved wood and pink brick and also is full of rural calm.
From the village of Panauti, we make our way travel to the south of Kathmandu to the Patan city. We will have lunch there and then, get into a walking tour discovering the fascinating old-aged city.
Discover the narrow alleyways as well as the intricate courtyard systems making the city such a well-planned and unique place. It is also our chance to observe craftsmen busy at work making bronze statues or copper pots as well as thangka painters on the minutiae of their masterpieces.
Our day 3 will end up with a glorious sunset scenery at the old palace square with a cup of tea and witness the locals slowly close down their vendors – shops to finish their daily work.
Overnight in Patan.
Today is our last day in Nepal. We will get into an odd tour of Kathmandu on the back of a vintage Vespa.
Later, transfer to the airport for a flight coming home. The trip ends. Hope you had a fantastic trip. If you are going to enjoy other Asia vacation, let us your partner.
