On this 8-day Bhutan Family Tour, you will discover the wonders of Western Bhutan from the old-aged capital – Thimphu to the impressive Dochu La Pass and Punakha – the semi-tropical valley. It’s time for your family to immerse in the incredible Himalayan views and experience Bhutanese family life before participating in the infamous Taktsang. A hike light of any Bhutanese adventure.
Breakfast and we start discovering Thimphu this morning. Make our way to the National Stadium as well as archery ground where you can strive to enjoy the national sport of Bhutan and stroll through the weekend market and the Takin Zoo (Takin is Bhutan’s national animal).
In the afternoon, we drive to Punakha via the impressive Dochu-La pass. When we reach Punakha, we perhaps head to the Chimi Lhakhang which is the famous temple of the Divine Madman – Drukpa Kinley.
Later, drive to the hotel and check into.

Today, set off to the idyllic countryside. Cross a small suspension bridge, we begin a steep and short hike to Khamsung Yulley Chorten which is a relatively new stupa with incredible interiors and impressive valley vistas. As we return to the bridge, enjoy a rafting tour on the gentle Punakha Chhu which will absolutely be thrilling as you both enjoy a watering sport and admire the vibrant nature surround. The rafting trip ends and then, we head to the Punakha Dzong which is considered the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan taking place at the confluence of Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu river offering the impressive surrounding vista for you to immerse yourself in.

This morning, we transfer back to Dochu-La Pass for a chance to observe peaks of Bhutan in the north which form the natural boundary with the glorious Tibetan Plateau. We then take a 2-hour hike through rich vegetation consisting of moss, hemlock, laden birch as well as rhododendrons, we finally reach Lungchutse Temple. We will have a picnic lunch there with absolutely astonishing sceneries just before heading downhill to another retreat and monastic center – the Trashigang Goemba. Later, you will take a drive and head to Haa Valley.

After breakfast, we drive to the northern scenic part of Haa Valley to get into an easy 3 or 4-hour hike taking you into past serene villages and old-aged temples.
In the afternoon, head to the magnificent temple complex of Karpo Lhakhang and then, stop at the local school to bump into some of the students there.

Today, we board on a drive to Paro Valley via the Chele-La Pass. The road along the Paro Valley is often lined with blossoming apple orchards and willow trees. You will see the terraced fields and surrounding forested hills dotted with the large white farmhouses and stone temples and then, create a stunning and quaint environment. Then, make our way down and stop at the Dzongdrakha Cliff temples, stunning sight, and an archaeological wonder to witness.
Later, in the late afternoon, we visit Ta Dzong aka Watch Tower along with the National Museum and Rinpung Dzong.
Overnight in Paro.
Our last day enjoying Bhutan Family Tour. Today, we will get into a hike to the legendary and iconic attractions of Paro – Taktsang Goemba aka the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. It takes us approximately 2 hours to reach a spot offering a whole view of the Taktsang Goemba. You can hire a hiking stick that will absolutely be useful for our trip. Or, you can get a horse-cart ride if you don’t want to hike. You can even hike beyond the monastery to visit some more remote religious sites like Zangdopelri or Ugyen Tshemo.
We then back to the Paro Valley and stop at the oldest temple of Bhutan – Kyichu Lhakhang.

Time to say goodbye Bhutan. Breakfast and morning at leisure until getting escorted to the airport for a flight coming home. The trip ends. Hope you had a fantastic trip. Wish that when it comes to other Asia tour, you will choose us again.
